Welcome to KAP
Kids Afternoon Program
MISSION:
Our mission is to provide a fun, safe, enriching environment for the youth in Amador County: a place to belong! ACRA’s Kids Afternoon Program (KAP) encourages creativity, respect for others, physical fitness, lasting friendships, academic growth, healthy lifestyle choices and having fun!
HOURS:
Kids Afternoon Program is open from 2:00 to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday at the county’s elementary school campuses. Families can choose to enroll in Full Week (5 Days per Week) or Partial Week (1-4 Days per Week) options. On school’s Minimum Days, hours are 12:00 to 5:30 pm with no extra charge. ACRA offers School Break Camps for Non-School Days. These require a separate enrollment form and additional fee.
FEES:
The registration Fee is $25 per child, per school year, and it is non-refundable.
Enrollment Fees are charged per month and must be paid in advance. Fees are calculated based on $15 per day for the Full Week option and $17 per day for the Partial Week option. Monthly fees are calculated according to the number of school days on the school district calendar for each month (do not count days marked as H, X, P or N), and on what days of the week you are choosing for your child to be enrolled. If you need help calculating your fees, please, give us a call.
If you cannot afford the enrollment fees, we strongly recommend applying for Child Care Subsidy through The Resource Connection. ACRA is their approved provider, funds are available and the application process is easy. Apply online at cel.trcac.org or call 209-754-1075.
There is a Late Pick Up fee of $25 if the child is not picked up by 5:40 pm.
PAYMENTS:
Payments for each month are done no later than the last business day of the previous month. Payments are non-refundable regardless of how many days were actually attended.
Credit card payments can be made online, by phone or in person at the ACRA office. Payment checks can be dropped off at the KAP center, but cash cannot be handled by our Youth Leaders. You can pay cash by stopping by ACRA office Monday through Thursday 10 am- 3:00 pm.
SNACKS:
KAP provides two healthy snacks daily for each child. Kids may bring healthy snacks from home. Candy, energy drinks, and soft drinks are not allowed to be brought into the program by participants. KAP provides fountain water and individual reusable plastic bottles for participants.
